257 individuals have died today, on the 11th of April 2018 due to a military plane crashing near Algeria’s capital, Algiers.
The crash occurred once the aircraft had flown from Boufarik military airport.
Most of the victims of the incident are army personnel and their family.
Ten crew members have also been identified as dead.
It is not clear whether there are any survivors.
Investigations are taking place to find out what caused the crash.
This has been the deadliest plane crash to take place since the Malaysian Airlines flight, MH17 went missing in July 2014, which resulted in 298 people dying due to being shot down over eastern Ukraine.
More news will be revealed once investigators have more insight into the names of individuals who died and most importantly, the cause for the crash.
